Thrifting Tip: Bird Feeder from Condiment Bowl

Have you seen the price of bird feeders these days? Wow! As a stay-at-home mom, I’m always looking for ways to reuse items, especially when I’m thrift store shopping! So, when my son and I decided to add some bird feeders to our back yard, I headed to the thrift shop for inspiration. When my eyes landed on this condiment bowl from Pottery Barn, the light bulb went off! The price tag was $5, but it was well under what bird feeders costs and also looked durable, so we grabbed it. My husband was a little uneasy about taking an expensive condiment bowl and hanging it in the yard for the birds to use (after all, I saw the exact same one selling on eBay for $39.99!), but I assured him that I would never use it in the house, so we might as well use it for the birds! We’ve had it out there for months now and it’s holding up great! The birds love it and we love watching them (and the occasional baby squirrel)!
